Sunbirds at Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens

Double Collared Sunbird

Every year around this time the aloes start to flower. When they flower, they are visited by the Sunbirds. Bird photographers, or people who just love photographing birds, will then go to the various well known places for spotting these little birds and snap away.

These little birds are not that easy to photograph, because they are that… “little”. They are very quick and are often sitting on the wrong side of the Aloe when you want to photograph them. But no matter what happens, you will have fun. Just be patient.

Don’t forget to look around for other birds as well.
