Our favourite way to travel is to stop wherever we can to take photos or have coffee. On our way back to Johannesburg from Welkom, we stopped for coffee in Parys and came across the Plum Tree coffee shop and Candyman sweet shop.

The shop is a treasure trove of interesting old tins and treasures. There is seating both inside and out on the stoep.

While you wait for your coffee, they bring you a very old copy of the Huisgenoot magazine to page through. The one we paged through was from 1971. I found that to be very interesting.

The atmosphere was lovely and we would definitely stop there again.
