The photographic adventures of Pierre and Vanessa
We recently had the opportunity to join the Kensington Heritage Group on a 10km walk around Kensington in Johannesburg.
Our walk started at the Victoria Yards in Lorentzville where we were able to park our vehicles quite safely. We stopped on Norfolk road in Kensington from where we had quite a lovely view over the area and we could see the city skyline in the distance.
We first found out about the Franschhoek Wine Tram in a Cape Town tourism booklet and thought this would be a great experience. So we hired a little car in Cape Town and off went to Franschoek. We did make our booking before the time as these tours are extremely popular.
The ticket office is very easy to find as it looks just like the tram and buses. We quickly got our tickets then settled down for a cup of coffee before the start of the tour.
Every year around this time the aloes start to flower. When they flower, they are visited by the Sunbirds. Bird photographers, or people who just love photographing birds, will then go to the various well known places for spotting these little birds and snap away.
