We first found out about the Franschhoek Wine Tram in a Cape Town tourism booklet and thought this would be a great experience. So we hired a little car in Cape Town and off went to Franschoek. We did make our booking before the time as these tours are extremely popular.
The ticket office is very easy to find as it looks just like the tram and buses. We quickly got our tickets then settled down for a cup of coffee before the start of the tour.
Cape Town offers its visitors many different experiences. Some are even free. We decided to to a walking tour of the Bo-Kaap with its bright, colourful houses. You can find out more about the tours from Free Walking Tours in Cape Town.
Our tour guide, Manni gave us some background information on the area, and then took us around some of the streets in the area.
Travelling somewhere on a budget means that you can’t always go and see everything you want to. So we decided to do the trip to Robben Island as neither of us had been there before and leave visiting Table Mountain for another time. When researching our trip to Cape Town we saw that we could book the Robben Island trip before the time, which we did.
